Gemstones are believed to have powers and promote certain characteristics within their wearers. These properties vary widely from stone to stone. Some are intended for peace and prosperity. Others instil strength and courage in the wearer. Following are several gemstones and their associated properties.


Agates promote general healing and protection. Being a strong stone which attracts strength, it stimulates courage, energy and self confidence. In ancient times, the agate was used to keep thunderstorms away.

Garnet is the birthstone of January. The garnet is a stone used for protection. It increases confidence levels and security.



Iolite is believed to unlock creativity in an artist. Focusing on this stone is thought by some to assist in shamanic journeying and recovering information from past lives
